The Niessen Alphabet

An alternative to the Lorm alphabet for deafblind is the Niessen alphabet, named to Johannes Niessen. The characters are stroked or typed on the back of the hand of the reader.

The Niessen alphabet is a possible alternative to Lorm.

Deafblind is a unique disability!

In 2010, Alexander Fakoó designed his own logo, which shows very well what deafblindness is all about: the hand replaces the eye and the ear!
